According to DownDetector, hundreds of people have been affected worldwide since 8am BST.
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, acknowledged the outage with a statement: “We are currently investigating this issue.”

Down Detector receives network status updates from various sources, including social media and reports submitted to the website.
According to the site, 79 percent of those affected said they had problems with ChatGPT in general, while others were more specific: 15 percent said they had problems with the app and 6 percent with the website.
