Chase Koepka in awe at massive crowd and mayhem that followed hole-in-one at LIV Golf Adelaide
Chase Koepka declares no experience he’ll ever have in golf will beat the chaos that followed his hole-in-one at LIV Adelaide – as new video shows how big the crowd was
- Thousands crammed onto the Grange golf course
- Was Australia’s first LIV Golf event
- Champion was left in awe of the audience
Chase Koepka doesn’t think he’ll ever have an experience like the one after his ace in Adelaide in the rest of his golfing life.
The party at the ‘Watering Hole’, the par three 12th, had been raging all week with every shot cheered in hopes of a hole-in-one at the LIV event.
When it finally happened on Sunday, the place went completely crazy.
Koepka, the brother of superstar Brooks, delivered for the masses who overloaded the tee box with plastic cups and drenched all players and caddies in beer amid wild celebrations from players and fans alike.
“I hit it, and I knew it was good. I actually thought it was going to be a little deep, and I saw it kind of rise up the slope and bounce softly, and I was like, oh, it’s going to be close,” he said recalling his magical moment.

And then the roar just got louder and louder and louder, and when it came in I just started getting peppered with beer cans. I smelled like beer for the rest of the day.
Yes, it was a wild, crazy experience. I mean, obviously it was super special to do it on a hole like that. It certainly gave the fans something to remember.
“For the next few hours I was there, I got ovation after ovation every time I walked to every shot, every tee box. It was pretty cool.
“That’s probably how Cam Smith felt all week, but at least I got a glimpse of it.”

The beer flowed and streamers were flung into the air as fans showed LIV Golf some good old-fashioned Australian hospitality
It was the sixth hole-in-one for Kopeka, and only the second at any LIV event.
But this one was different and the 29-year-old called it a “once in a lifetime” experience.
“I think this is the best tournament LIV has had so far, and to be able to do it in front of such an audience is quite special,” he said.
“It’s something to always remember. Yes, it’s pretty cool. I can just say that. I don’t know if I can repeat what I just did there, but it will be really cool to come back here because I know everyone will remember it.’
Koepka was cheered all the way down to pick up his ball, which he then threw to the stands around the LIV party hole.
