The edgy, six-part British version of the superhero story follows a group of five ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers. They have little in common, except for one thing: they are all black South Londoners.

Each of the five heroes has their own personal problems, while struggling with a special ability.

In the first season, Tosin Cole played the lead role of Michael Lasaki, a delivery man who can teleport and manipulate time.

He was joined by Adelayo Adedayo as Dionne Ofori, Michael’s fiancée, and Eddie Marsan, whose character tries to track them down.

Showrunner, creator and lead director Rapman said, “I can’t wait for the world to see Supacell Season 2. For me, Season 1 was always an origin story.

“Season 2 is when the journey really begins. Season 1 was my Batman Begins, Season 2 is my Dark Knight.”

“The way this show managed to be entertaining with its fantasy/sci-fi side, but also so informative and eye-opening was a really nice surprise. Sickle cell disease isn’t talked about enough! I need a season 2 ASAP.”
