Charlotte Rampling has never gone under the knife to preserve her good looks, and never will.

The 76-year-old English actress simply believes in aging gracefully and says she’s ‘fascinated’ with the process.

‘He doesn’t speak to me, this question. He doesn’t talk to me. I don’t really have a relationship with’ she said The Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday, when asked about getting old.

‘It will be what it will be. My face isn’t too bad so I don’t have to have surgery,’ the Dune star continued.

‘Even if I had wanted to, I probably never would have done it because it scares me too much and I’m not okay with it. I’m a little fascinated by the fact that my face ages.

When it comes to staying fit and healthy, the actress insists it’s all down to DNA.

'It will be what it will be.  My face isn't too bad so I don't have to have surgery,' said the Dune star. ‘I remain, resolutely, as strong and well as I can, physically. I have a lot of my father’s body, muscle tone, ”he says.

Charlotte once attributed the longevity of her career, and the ability to land ‘sexy’ roles, to not altering her famous face.

‘Don’t change your face and you can get really interesting roles, not just granny roles; you can also get sexy parts,’ said the Night Porter star.

Earlier this year, Charlotte recalled the time she enjoyed flirting with Russell Crowe before he hit the big time in his acting career.

The Oscar-nominated actress, who rose to fame in Georgy Girl, “a doll that never gets out of trouble,” recalls co-starring with Russell, 58, in the 1993 Australian romantic drama Hammers Over The Anvil.

At the time, she was married to womanizing French musician Jean-Michel Jarre, now 74, while Crowe was in an on-off relationship with actress Danielle Spencer, who later became his wife.

Speaking to The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, Charlotte said the young Russell was: “A very attractive young man”, explaining that he was before Crowe, now “he’s gotten huge” thanks to films including 2000’s Gladiator.

She continued: ‘I had a flirtation. You could leave it like that.

Charlotte currently appears in the film Juniper and will soon star in the sequel to the sci-fi hit Dune.
