Charlotte Dawson reveals it was ‘heartbreaking’ seeing her baby son Jude hooked up to machines when he nearly died from RSV Bronchitis: ‘He’s our little miracle!’
Charlotte Dawson has told how it was 'heartbreaking' to see her five-month-old son Jude 'hung up on machines' as he almost died from RSV bronchitis.
The former Ex On The Beach star, 31, had to rush her son to hospital in October, just a few months after he was born, after the illness was first dismissed as a cold.
He was then put on oxygen for six days after struggling to breathe and changing colour, when doctors told her he 'would have died' if he had come in a day later.
She has now spoken Closer about the “scary experience” that she says “put everything into perspective,” calling Jude her “little miracle.”
The star said: 'It was so scary. He wasn't eating and his breathing slowed and he couldn't catch his breath. Suddenly the color inside him changed, he really turned gray.

“They saw him and immediately said, 'Thank God you brought him in now because he would have died if it had been 24 hours later.' I was in total shock.
'When he was hooked up to the machines it was heartbreaking. It made me realize what life is about and put everything into perspective. If something were to happen to Jude, I don't know what I would have done. He is our little miracle.”
During the hospital stay in October, she talked about how grateful she was that she had trusted her instincts after an initial doctor turned them away because she thought it was just a cold.
Charlotte posted a photo of herself cradling her little one close to her chest and holding his hand.
She captioned the post: “Trust your motherly instincts. I may have been absolutely exhausted, but I knew something was wrong and it wasn't.
'Our beautiful boy has RSV bronchitis after he just said he had a cold and the doctors told him to go home and rest.
'Thank God we got to hospital at the right time and the nurses and doctors were great, got him on oxygen straight away and we will be here until next week but we are in the right place and in safe hands.
'Thank you for all your messages, I love you all, I just need to focus on him getting better now, so scary when they are so little and see him with all these tubes around him, I don't want to let him go. '

According to the NHSBronchiolitis is caused by a viral infection, most commonly respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
RSV is very common and spreads easily through coughing and sneezing. Almost all children have had it by the time they are two.
Fans and Charlotte's famous friends flocked to her comments section to send their love and well wishes.
Reality star Vicky Pattison wrote: “Well done beautiful girl for acting quickly… sending you, Jude and your entire family so much love,” followed by a heart eye emoji.
Singer Rebecca Ferguson added, “Lots of love, hope he heals soon,” followed by some hearts and praying hands.
The then-TV personality then used her stories to keep her followers informed about what was going on.
As Jude nursed from her breast, Charlotte joked, “He loves sitting on mommy's breasts, on the udders.”
After thanking her fans for all their kind messages, she went on to say, “Last night was obviously very scary, traumatic and very emotional.”
She told her followers how she took Jude to the doctors earlier this week but they told her he was a little fat but nothing serious.
They assured her that he would be fine and that she would keep an eye on him, but to call if she had any concerns.
Then she said that one night Jude started screaming. She told her followers: 'I just knew something wasn't right, it's the mother instinct, you just know something isn't right. He did this proper shouting.
'On Wednesday night the screaming started again like he was in a lot of pain and I just knew it wasn't right and it didn't sound like Jude at all. I kept sending Matthew voice notes because he was in the other room and I woke him up and thought, 'Look, something's not right.'
Charlotte took Jude to the doctors again, who told her it could be colic, but that his chest was clear and she should go home. They added that if she was really worried, she could take him to the hospital, but she would have to wait a while.
Charlotte took Jude home and then said: 'The wheezing started, he couldn't breathe, he deteriorated massively and still wouldn't eat from me.'
She said she then decided to take him to hospital, saying: 'The nurses said, 'Thank God you came now because his oxygen levels are so low.' They saw me straight away, they were so good with me.
'His color was gray. A horrible, horrible color. His eyes are all swollen and red and then they took us straight to the ward and x-rayed him. Obviously he had to have blood and all. It was traumatic.
'It's just awful to see all those tubes in your baby's face and even though it's obviously helping him, and we're in safe hands here, it's just so hard and I had to leave the room a few times.'
Charlotte then said that the tests showed that Jude had RSV bronchitis and that because he is so young, they would be in hospital for the next few days.

The star assured fans that she has seen a change in her little one and even got a few smiles from him, but he is really struggling with his breathing.
'He feeds on me, which is great, and on the tube, so I pump away. I'm like Daisy here, the chugging cow!' she joked.
The mum-of-two, who welcomed her second son Jude with rugby player fiance Matt Sarsfield at the end of July, told how she 'can't cope with how scary it has been'.
The couple also share son Noah, who turned two in January.
