Charlie’s Angels and Edge Of Fury star Jean Allison dead at age 94: Actress known for various roles in decades-long career including Perry Mason

Jean Allison passed away on February 28 at the age of 94 – which was confirmed by her family an obituaryper People.

Although the cause of death was not disclosed by her loved ones, the late actress passed away in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

The star is known for appearing in several television projects over the course of her career, which spanned about three decades, such as Charlie’s Angels (1977) and also Bonanza (1960).

Allison was born on October 24, 1929 in New York City and graduated from Marymount High School.

She later attended and graduated from Adelphi College in upstate New York.

Jean was scouted by an agent after her performance in a play titled Teach Me How To Cry, written by Patricia Joudry.

Her first credited role was in the anthology series General Electric Theater (1957), where she played the role of Ethel Keeley.

From there, she took on nearly 100 credited roles, according to the late actress official IMDB page. In addition to television, Allison also appeared on the big screen, starring in the 1958 film, Edgy Of Fury.

The drama additionally cast Michael Higgins, Lois Holmes, Doris Fesette and Malcolm Lee Beggs.

In 1960, she starred in an episode of Bonanza as the character of Sally Byrnes and also appeared in the hit legal drama series Perry Mason for one episode in 1961.

Jean also later starred in the show, 77 Sunset Strip, as well as two episodes of Gunsmoke in 1970 and later again in 1974.

Other shows where she portrayed characters include Adam-12 and also four episodes of Emergency!

Jean’s last credited acting role was in 1984, when she appeared in an episode of Highway To Heaven.

In 1951, Allison tied the knot with fellow actor Lee Philips, who also attended the same college as Jean. However, the couple later divorced.

Four years later, the actress said ‘yes’ to FX Toole (Jerry Boyd) – known for writing Million Dollar Baby (2004).

The two welcomed a daughter, Erin, over the course of their marriage — which ended when they divorced in 1958, according to IMDB.

In 1960, she soon met Phil Toorvald, and the couple welcomed two children, Sven and Tina, while also adopting a third child.

Jean and Phil were married until his death in 1994. She spent her later years with cinematographer Jack Couffer.

The two had first met decades earlier on the set of Edge Of Fury and formed a close bond until his death in 2021.
