The insider said, “Brooke and Charlie have joint custody and are co-parenting their sons who attend school in Malibu.”

The source said: 'Brooke also has a good relationship with Denise (Richards).'

The insider even added that the two get along so well that Richards currently has Mueller's beloved iguana as a pet, according to the publication.

The drama all started earlier this week when Sheen, who is marking six years of sobriety, opened up People: 'I mainly raised my 14 year old boys. Their mom has been trying to figure some things out on her end, so she's not in the picture much at the moment.

DailyMail.com had contacted a representative for Brooke Mueller for comment at the time. Her rep declined to comment to People.

Sheen and Mueller only recently resolved their years-long child support case after Charlie filed a request to pay less to his children in 2018.

They had a difficult relationship as they both had well-documented struggles with addiction.

Charlie also pleaded guilty to assault over a domestic dispute between the couple in December 2009.

Brooke claimed to police that the actor held a knife to her throat and threatened her, but she later tried to retract her statement.

A protective order was issued and Charlie pleaded guilty to a lesser charge that would keep him out of jail.

AP reported at the time that Charlie was sentenced to 30 days of drug rehabilitation, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.

A year later the couple separated. Months later, the actor was involved in a series of now infamous public meltdowns in early 2011 that led to him being fired from the hit sitcom Two And A Half Men.

The former couple came to a custody agreement in 2011 and finalized their divorce shortly after.

But Brooke is said to have created an 'unsafe' environment for the twins and they were removed from her home in 2013.
