Charlie Puth reveals he’s ‘definitely’ in love with a woman from his New Jersey hometown

Four-time Grammy nominee Charlie Puth revealed he is in an on/off long-term relationship with a woman from his hometown of Rumson, New Jersey.

When Howard Stern asked the 30-year-old pop star if he was in love with the mysterious lady, he replied, “Yeah, sure.”

‘[She’s] someone I grew up with,” Charlie said on Tuesday.

“As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere, it’s really nice to have someone close to you who you’ve known for a long time.”

Puth added: “She has always been very, very nice to me and I would assume that when times are inevitably difficult in the future, because what is life without dips and peaks, she would be there for me too.”

The 68-year-old SiriusXM host continued with “Do you think this is it?” and Charlie replied again, “Yes.”

But when Howard asked if the Light Switch hitmaker was ready to propose, he scoffed, “If I do, the media won’t know about it for sure. I’ll do my very best to make sure they don’t know, because it’s going to be too much.’

Charlie’s girlfriend is likely to attend the opening show of his 12-date One Night Only Tour this Sunday at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ.

The One Night Only Tour is in support of Puth’s self-titled third studio album Charlie, which was released on October 7.

The Voice battle advisor previously confirmed he was dating singer Charlotte Lawrence on Valentine’s Day in 2019, but their eventual breakup was so bad that it inspired his song That’s Hilarious.

Charlie also admitted to having a brief fling with Grammy nominee Selena Gomez, which culminated in their 2016 duet We Don’t Talk Anymore.

The Smells Like Me singer was also rumored to have been in a relationship with Halston Sage (2018-2019), Pritika Swarup (2016-2017) and Madison Reed (2015-2016).

“I’m not really interested in going out like I used to be and being crazy,” Charlie told Stern.

“Honestly, I’m so scared of people right now that I have nowhere to go for whatever reason. And I think the more that happens, the more I want to withdraw from someone I’ve known for a long time.”
