The track describes her worrying about another woman, singing, “I couldn’t even be her if I tried.”

In the lyrics, she also says, “Don’t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend’s show / Fingers crossed behind my back / I hope they break up quick,” suggesting that there was a woman hanging around backstage at the 1975 shows, along with Charli’s current fiancé George Daniel, who plays drums in the band.

She said, “People are going to think what they want to think. That song is about me and my feelings and my anxiety and the way my brain creates stories and narratives in my head when I’m feeling insecure and how I don’t want to be in those situations physically when I’m doubting myself.”
