Charlestown rental unit listed for $430 a week turns heads with shower inside bedroom
Why this rental unit has raised eyebrows after being offered for $430 a week: ‘The deeper you look, the worse it gets’
- $430 per week rental includes odd shower feature
- The unit’s shower is located in a bedroom
A rental unit advertised for $430 a week has raised eyebrows among potential renters for one reason.
The unit in Charlestown, southwest of Newcastle, contains two bedrooms, a separate bathroom and en-suite shower.
The price may be attractive to most renters, but a small detail in the property has left many feeling insecure.
A $430-a-week rental has shocked social media after it was revealed that its only shower is in a bedroom, just feet from the bed (pictured)
Photos show that the shower is not in a separate room, but in the main bathroom with a sink right next to the bed.
The unit came to light in a video posted to TikTok by social media influencer Rach McQueen, who rates “untrustworthy” properties on the social media app.
“The person who sent this in said the deeper you look, the worse it gets,” Ms McQueen said.
After looking at the rest of the pictures in the frame, Mrs. McQueen begins to criticize the master bedroom.
“Here’s the master bedroom with the adjoining bathroom, and look, it doesn’t look bad,” she said.
Mrs. McQueen then reveals the ensuite shower.
“That’s a shower, in the bedroom, next to the bed,” she said.
“So the person who lives in the other bedroom has to come to this bedroom and take a shower next to this person’s bed.” What the f**k?’
Other social media users took to the comment section to express how shocked they were by the mention.
“The way I craved that ‘ensuite,'” one wrote.
“I wonder if they ripped out an old corner spa to make room for the bed,” wrote a second.
“They could have at least built a wall to separate the bathroom from the bedroom,” a third wrote.
“Not sure what sound I even made when I saw the ensuite,” added another.
