Charles Leclerc has implored fans to stop gathering outside his hometown after his home address was recently leaked to the public.

The Ferrari man says he has been inundated with waves of optimistic supporters gathering outside his apartment in hopes of snapping a picture or getting an autograph from the Monegasque driver.

Leclerc has said he is happy to stop for photos on the street or track, but insists there is “a line that should not be crossed” regarding his private life.

The F1 driver posted a brief statement on his Instagram story begging hopeful fans to stop knocking at his apartment.

The message read: “In recent months, my home address has somehow become public, causing people to gather under my apartment, ring my doorbell, and ask for photos and autographs.

Track life hasn’t been easy for Leclerc in 2023 after crashing in two races so far

“While I’m always happy to be there for you and I really appreciate your support, please respect my privacy and don’t come to my house.

“I’ll make sure to stop in front of everyone if you see me on the street or track, but I won’t come down if you come to my house.

“Your support, both personally and on social media, means everything to me, but there is a line that should not be crossed.”

The 25-year-old had previously stolen his £265,000 Richard Mille watch while signing autographs for fans in Tuscany a few days before the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

The police in Italy have now made two arrests in connection with the robbery after a raid on the premises of one of the suspects.

Leclerc has had a rough start to the 2023 F1 season, having crashed in two of the three races so far this year.

Leclerc currently occupies 10th place in the Drivers’ Championship, while Ferrari is 4th in the Constructors’ Championship.
