Charles Barkley blasts rival analyst Skip Bayless for ‘stupid and asinine’ Bill Belichick-Tom Brady take: ‘I hate him with every fiber’
NBA legend Charles Barkley called out “Undisputed” host Skip Bayless for his take on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
During an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Friday, Barkley brought up a comment allegedly made by Bayless, in which the FS1 analyst claimed that “Bill (Belichick) only won championships because of Tom Brady.”
The former NBA star-turned-broadcaster blasted Bayless for the “asinine” stance, insisting that the legendary former Patriots coach’s criticism is “not accurate” as Brady did not play on defense or special teams.
He also wondered if Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who has won three Super Bowls, would reach that number without Patrick Mahomes.
“We have so many idiots and jerks on TV now, everyone has to agree,” Barkley raged before urging everyone to stop comparing Mahomes to Brady or Reid to Belichick.

“Let me tell you how stupid some of these guys on television are,” Barkley added as he switched to talking about his rival.
“You know how much I hate Skip Bayless. I hate him with every fiber. Sometimes he makes me want to gain weight again so I can hate him with even more weight.”
“Why do you keep watching these shows?” Patrick intervened as Barkley became increasingly agitated over Bayless.
“I don’t watch these shows,” Barkley insisted. “People send me these hot takes and I love going hard on people. Because to sit there and say, “Bill only won championships because of Tom Brady,” that’s stupid and stupid. Andy Reid is a great person, he’s a great coach. But how many championships has he won without Patrick Mahomes? So stop trying to hate Bill Belichick.
“For some reason people want to shoot Bill. It is not right. When you’re on television, our job is to be fair and objective. And we have some clowns on television right now saying, “Belichick is overrated.” Dude went to nine Super Bowls. There is no one who has been to nine Super Bowls who is overrated.”
It’s unclear when Bayless made the alleged comments, but the analyst recently labeled Belichick “smug, condescending, and above all.”

Belichick took out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe last Sunday to thank the fans of the team he coached for 23 years.
‘There’s nothing wrong with it, of course. But you just wondered why it didn’t come sooner during his career,” Bayless said. ‘Cause I’ve never heard him flow like that before.
“And I was a student of Brady and Belichick. And Keyshawn, I know you know him, and I know you love him, and I know you hung out with him and had steak dinners with him and stuff. I get it. I do not know him. I do this remotely.
“But when I first read this, if I may use a Vanderbilt word, it was so poignant to me, from a distance, that it became a little sad, because I wished he had given more of this back to the fans . all those years he led this league in arrogance.
“And you know, and I know he led this league in arrogance, and he had a right to, because they dominated the league. They were dynastic. But he was smug and condescending, and so far he was above it.”
Bayless then turned his attention to why Belichick hasn’t been hired by other teams in the NFL: “So this is what I see. That Bill Belichick, who you and many others consider the GOAT coach, has gone 29 and 38 over the past four years in New England and made one playoff game in Buffalo, giving up 47 points and the score of Josh Allen couldn’t make it. violation point one time.

Belichick’s open letter in the Globe addressed Patriots fans throughout New England
“They scored every time they had the football, either a field goal or a touchdown. And from there he goes into the interview cycle and goes 0-for-7.
“And it’s obvious to me, and I already told you this going in, so I’m not being a 20/20 hypocrite here, I didn’t think anyone was going to hire him because he hasn’t done enough lately.
“He didn’t do enough without Tom Brady. He hasn’t done enough with today’s players, the younger generation of players.’
This isn’t the first time Barkley has taken shots at Bayless and made fun of him in the NBA on TNT, including once in 2022 when he and Shaquille O’Neal mocked a debate between the rival host and Shannon Sharpe.
