Charlamagne tha God offers brutal five-word verdict on Kamala Harris’ VP pick Tim Walz

Charlamagne tha God gave a thought-provoking five-word review of Kamala Harris running mate Tim Walz this week.

The Breakfast Club radio host summed it up: “I don’t think he’s trash,” after first citing a provocative line from Jay-Z when considering whether Walz was the right choice for a potential vice president over other choices like Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

Charlamagne sarcastically wondered if the Minnesota governor is the best “white guy who turns other white people on,” but admitted he didn’t see Walz’s “impact.”

Charlamagne paraphrased the Jay-Z hit “Takeover” and asked, “What did Jay-Z say?” “He had a spark when he started, but now he’s just trash?”

“I don’t think he’s trash, you know what I mean? But it’s like I don’t see the impact.’

Co-host Lauren LoRosa then jokingly added that Walz “is chilling.”

“We don’t need that now,” Charlemagne shot back. “We don’t need you to chill Walz, okay? We need you on the front lines, okay?

“You need a white man to get other white people excited. I don’t know if he’s the white guy doing that, right?’

The discussion took place as he and other Breakfast Club hosts reviewed Harris’ initially planned itinerary for her visit to North Carolina.

She was scheduled to attend homecoming celebrations at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, but canceled a trip to her alma mater Howard University.

Instead, Harris headed to the Midwest for a series of events in Wisconsin and Michigan and appeared at a rally with singer Lizzo on Saturday in Detroit, Michigan — another crucial swing state.

That prompted Charlamagne to snap, “Tim Walz gets the rest.”

On Thursday, Walz campaigned in North Carolina alongside former President Bill Clinton at an event in Durham.

But the radio host admitted he didn’t see Walz’s “impact” as he wondered if he was the right person for the job.

He was forced to prove himself after his debate performance against JD Vance left many Democrats unimpressed.

Republican Vance received higher marks for his debate performance, Walz was the person Americans would rather have a beer with, according to likely voters polled by JL Partners for DailyMail.com.

Walz was favored over Vance when asked about a variety of activities, including who they would let watch their kids, who they would plan a road trip with and who they would let watch their pets.

The polls suggested a “deeper relatability” with Walz, despite the Minnesota governor’s uneven performance compared to Vance’s polished presentation.

At the same time, Walz slightly defeated Vance when likely voters were asked which candidate they thought was “the weirdest.”

Walz was the Democrat who called Vance and former President Donald Trump “weird,” saying at an early campaign rally with Vice President Kamala Harris, “These guys are creepy and yeah, just weird as hell.”

He has been working hard lately to try to win over white, male voters who Harris desperately needs to win.

Earlier this week, the vice presidential hopeful was at a Pennsylvania farm to demonstrate his shooting skills in celebration of the Democratic campaign’s new hunter affinity group.
