NFL star Sebastian Joseph-Day claims he was ‘sexually assaulted by three TSA agents’ at John Wayne airport in California
Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day has caused a stir after accusing three TSA agents of sexual assault at a California airport this week.
The NFL star was flying from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California when the alleged assault occurred, and he took to Twitter to share his story.
“I was actually sexually assaulted by TSA at @JohnWayneAir,” Josepeh-Day’s first post read.
‘After I asked the gentleman to please stop [because] I am uncomfortable and feel that this part of the check is unnecessary (After you felt what was needed). Then they told me I was the problem after 3 TSA agents raided me.
I am in favor of people doing their job well. But it was extremely unnecessary and dehumanizing. I travel a lot, for personal and work reasons. I have never experienced anything like this @JohnWayneAir.
LA Chargers manager Sebastian Joseph-Day said he was sexually assaulted by TSA employees
Joseph-Day said the assault occurred at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.
He took to Twitter to reveal details about the incident, claiming that officers “targeted” him.
“And when I try to file a complaint, they make me jump through hoops to do so. @JuanWayneAir
I’m not sharing this on Twitter out of sympathy. I am sharing this so that this group of gentlemen and staff cannot do this to another human being again. @JohnWayneAir @City_of_Irvine @OCSheriff @OCGovCA’
After Joseph-Day’s series of tweets gained traction with the public, the official account for John Wayne Airport responded by saying: ‘Hi @SJD_51, thanks for letting us know about this.
“Our priority is to provide a comfortable and safe experience when traveling through John Wayne Airport. We are forwarding this information to TSA.’
Clearly unhappy with John Wayne Airport’s attempts to place blame for the incident, Joseph-Day responded with another tweet that read:
“It’s one thing for them to apologize after my concerns, but the supervisor threatened to call the sheriff if I didn’t finish the search after I said I was raped and told me to watch my mouth. I don’t think it’s just a TSA issue @JohnWayneAir @AskTSA @City_of_Irvine’
Another airport account, AskTSA, chimed in, adding: “We take your concerns about detection seriously. Please provide additional details so we can investigate this further, before posting a link to file official complaints.
On the football field during his first year with the Chargers, Joseph-Day recorded 56 total tackles, two sacks, and the first interception of his four-year career.
He previously spent three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and won a Super Bowl with the team in 2021.
Joseph-Day posted several tweets providing more information about what happened to him.
John Wayne Airport tried to blame the TSA and offered no apology.
Joseph-Day did not mince words when he shouted the response to his complaint online.
