Chappell Roan debuts new lesbian country song The Giver during thrilling performance on Saturday Night Live
Chappell Roan debuted a new single with country charm during her first appearance on Saturday Night Live.
On November 2, the same day Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on the show, the 26-year-old singer sang her hit Pink Pony Club for the first time.
She then stepped back on stage and performed a brand new song entitled The Giver.
Joined on stage by a violinist, she brought a honeyed tone to her singing as she performed in a genre she didn’t expect.
However, in true Chappell Roan nature, the song featured her signature anthemic choruses and breathtaking, inimitable runs.

“If you need the job done, call me, baby,” she sang. Because you don’t have to tell me. It’s just in my nature. Take it like a taker, ’cause baby, I’m a giver.’
Completely dressed in a gingham bra top and micro shorts, the star danced around the stage in matching cowboy boots.
During the bridge, she got down on her knees and spoke to the camera.
“All the country boys who say you know how to treat a woman right… Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right. She gets the job done.”
The Missouri native — who recently wrapped up her Midwest Princess tour — recently revealed that she has a new album in the works.
Earlier this week, she shared a photo posing with her vinyl album cover.
In her caption, she teased an upcoming release while making a reference to Love Island.
She wrote, “The album kind of fell out [in my opinion] but it’s time to welcome a new, new bombshell to the villa.’

Just two weeks earlier, her producer Dan Nigro revealed in an interview that five songs had already been completed so far.
In a profile with The New York Timeshe said her next album will feature a “fun, up-tempo country song,” a “few ballads” and a “mid-tempo rock song.”
At the time he also said there would be a song with a violin.
“I will say that,” Nigro told the publication. “It’s a new version of Chappell.”
It’s hard to ignore that the message of her country-themed single from her upcoming album coincides with her sharing the screen with current Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Previously, Roan – born Kayleigh Amstutz – went viral after she refused to endorse the VP for the presidential election.
She faced backlash for not officially supporting a candidate, and in late September she doubled down on her previous comments.
The musician used TikTok at the time to clarify her political position.

The star, who recently shared an Instagram post about how she dreamed of being on Saturday Night Live, drew loud cheers from the crown as she performed
She was joined by her band and backup singers as she performed her catchy lyrics during her first musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live.
She reiterated that while she plans to vote for Kamala Harris, she has no plans to formally declare her support.
“If you don’t understand what I’m saying, it’s a lost cause,” she said at the beginning of the clip.
‘Approve and vote are completely different and I don’t agree with a lot of what’s happening with the policy, like obviously f*** the policy on the right… but also f*** some of the policy on the right from the left,” she said.
Roan continued, explaining, “That’s why I can’t endorse it.”
‘I can’t put my whole name or my whole project behind it [candidate]because in no way can I support some of the completely transphobic and completely genocidal views of the left. There are big problems on both sides.’
