A fire has destroyed a nightclub on Melbourne’s iconic Chapel Street shopping street.
The fire broke out shortly after 2am on the top floor of The Lux nightclub and has since been brought under control by firefighters.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that men wearing balaclavas were seen on the roof of the building shortly before the fire broke out.
Kapelstraat is closed in both directions, causing traffic disruption in the area.
The police are investigating the incident.
