Chaotic interaction on the New York subway goes viral as several live sea creatures leak out of a woman’s bag
Snakes on a plane have no use on the New York City subway system.
A video making the rounds online shows live crabs escaping from a woman’s bag on a train, terrorizing the entire car.
Footage of the incident was first shared via an Instagram account Subway creatures on Friday, September 27, with millions of views.
It is not known when the video was first recorded, but it was filmed by Instagram user Ian O’Conner.
The clip shows a woman frantically pushing a paper bag into the middle of the train after it appears to be broken.

The bag, wrapped in a plastic bag, contained live crabs, while the suspected owner of the crabs briefly tried to put them back in the bag.
Meanwhile, the passengers around them made sure to stay away from the crab.
Social media users were fascinated by what they could see, while shocked viewers watched as someone else tried to move the bag, which appeared to be broken.
Amused social media users also took aim at the one man who calmly held a crab in his hand as he sat on his chair, skillfully holding it out so his claws wouldn’t touch him.
The quiet passenger was the outlier; with most passengers rushing to get out of the way of the sea creatures.
However, other people presented bags for the woman to collect her shellfish, with two passengers carefully picking up the animals after more fell out of the broken bag when the woman tried to move them.
By the end of the video, most of the crabs had been collected and placed in the reusable bag.
The video was initially shared on Instagram, where it received millions of views and more than 14,500 comments.
Many users were impressed by how calm the seated man was despite holding the crab.

‘It’s killing me. This Asian suit man is very calm. Holding a crab is like this lady dropping her hat,” one user laughed.
Others said the dirt from the subway floor would be enough to make them stop eating the crabs.
“Even boiling water can’t kill those germs,” one person declared.
Other users loved how live sea creatures bought people together on the train.
‘This is the opposite of the crabs-in-a-bucket mentality! This is teamwork where we put the crabs in the bucket together,” they emphasized.
‘Notice how no one is really alarmed! Just another regular day on the subway,” another chimed in.
