Chaos continues during filming for the new season of Married At First Sight as newlyweds storm out of apartment with their luggage behind the scenes tension brews
There’s already drama brewing over the upcoming season of Married At First Sight, as a couple have been spotted leaving their apartment at One Global Resorts in Sydney.
Fan favourites this year, Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou were spotted hand-in-hand on Sunday as they left with a suitcase before hopping into an Uber together.
Awhina, a mother of one, is known for her chaotic and unpredictable personality and has already attracted a lot of attention both in front of and behind the camera.
A production insider told Ny Breaking Australia: ‘Awhina has been stirring the pot since day one. She’s a rule breaker and not afraid to shake things up.
“It’s no surprise that she’s been spotted with other brides during breaks from filming. She’s always been a bit of an unpredictable force.”
Adrian, 31, who runs the viral dessert Instagram channel SweetSundayz, brings his own brand of drama to the show.
He is described as outspoken but reasonable. He does not shy away from confrontation, but prefers to hear all sides of the story before forming an opinion.
A source close to the production shared: ‘Awhina is a calming influence on Adrian, but even she has her limits. They had a huge row right before this incident, and it seems like things came to a head over the weekend.’

Meanwhile, another insider gave a hint about what’s going on behind closed doors.
“There has been tension for some time now. Adrian is struggling to keep up with Awhina’s energetic and outgoing behaviour,” they said.
“This is not the first time they have come into conflict with the production. They are probably the two that have been criticized the most by the producers.”
Despite the appearance of unity, which saw the two holding hands as they left, sources say there is more to the story.

“They’ve had their share of ups and downs. Adrian tries to stay level-headed, but Awhina isn’t one to shy away from a fight. It’s definitely putting a strain on their relationship,” the source added.
“They’re both strong personalities, and that makes for great TV. But it also means they often butt heads,” the insider teased.
It is unclear whether the couple has left the show.
The sighting comes just days after the upcoming series’ oldest bride, Morena Farina, pictured, was also spotted with her suitcases waiting to be picked up
‘The show has begun’
The sighting came just days after Morena Farina, the eldest bride in the upcoming series, was also spotted with her suitcases ready to be picked up.
The 57-year-old mother of two was spotted waiting to be picked up, sitting on a bench just metres away from photographers, leaving onlookers in awe.
Ny Breaking Australia can reveal that producers usually go to great lengths to avoid spoilers, but that Morena’s departure appeared anything but discreet.

A paparazzi photographer who reports on Married At First Sight every year, described the incident to Yahoo Lifestyle as “very strange.”
“Normally, couples or actors leaving the show have to film an entire exit scene in the underground parking garage and leave in peace,” the photographer explains.
“They do this to prevent anyone from taking spoiler photos of them leaving with their suitcases, because these photos prove the couples broke up – but this was so weird.”
Morena’s departure has been described as unprecedented, as if she had been abruptly removed from the show.
The photographer added: ‘It was like she had been kicked out of the show, kicked out of the building and no one wanted anything to do with her anymore.
Producers didn’t even order her a car to take her to the airport or try to hide her from us [the press].
Fans are wondering what happened behind the scenes. It seems that Morena was left to her own devices. This is in stark contrast to the usual secrecy and care that the production team showed when dealing with departing cast members.
Sources close to the production have hinted at possible friction between Morena and the crew, with locals saying she was “rude” to both production staff and employees at the local café.
However, friends of the bride strongly deny these claims and claim that there has been a misunderstanding.
Married At First Sight returns to screens in January 2025 after the Australian Open on Channel Nine.
