Chantelle Otten reveals how to fix ‘mismatched libidos’

Does your relationship suffer from ‘libido mismatch’? Chantelle Otten, Dylan Alcott’s sexologist girlfriend, reveals how couples can increase their sexual compatibility

Celebrity sexologist Chantelle Otten has revealed how couples suffering from ‘libido mismatch’ can revive their sex lives.

Chantelle, the girlfriend of wheelchair athlete Dylan Alcott, told Nine honey on Sunday that couples should make sex a priority rather than a spontaneous activity.

“I think making time for intimacy and sex doesn’t sound very spontaneous or very romantic, but it does help signal that sex or intimacy or connection is a priority”

“The more you do those things, the more you want them too. I mean, who gets sick of too many kisses and hugs? Not many of us,” she added.

Chantelle assured fans that it’s “completely normal” for couples to have different sexual desires, while noting the importance of the person with a higher libido being “empathetic” to their partner.

She also suggested that couples should shake up their “sexual menu.”

“No one wants to have sex with someone who criticizes, condemns and pressures them. You have to practice understanding and compassion,” she said.

It comes after Chantelle told The Morning Show that the main issues she faces during therapy with her clients are “orgasm problems,” “desire discrepancies,” and the effect of stress on sex.

She said these things are “constantly brought up” by couples she meets in consultation.

“I think after Covid, we feel like we’re kind of in a rat race and the economy is changing now as well. You can see the impact it has,” she explained.

“The post-Covid mental health crisis has, too [had] a very big impact on people’s sex lives,” she added.

Chantelle went on to say that “pain, communication problems and [a lack of] sex education in general’ contribute to sexual problems for couples.
