Channel Seven’s The Voice narrowly beats Nine’s The Block in the Sunday night ratings
The Voice triumphed overnight over Channel Nine’s long-running reality hit The Block in the TV ratings – but it was a tight race.
Channel Seven’s singing contest drew 789,000 subway viewers, while 786,000 fans in major centers tuned in to the much-loved renovation hit.
The two reality rivals appear poised for a neck-and-neck ratings war in 2023.
Both shows debuted last week, but it was the Blockheads that came out on top with 722,000 subway viewers, ahead of The Voice, which reached 716,000 viewers.
Meanwhile, Channel 10 debuted the much-hyped, celebrity-filled second season of The Traitors overnight to poor results.

Hosted again by Roger Corser, The Traitors only managed 216,000 viewers in the overnight subway ratings.
Meanwhile, the ABC seems to be having a success with their lifestyle program, Renovation Australia.
The low-key reality show, hosted by Anthony Bourke, which offers building tips to homeowners, attracted an impressive 400,000 viewers in major capitals.

The national broadcaster also managed to attract a strong audience for their moody drama series Bay of Fires against stiff competition.
Starring Jack Irish actress Marta Dusseldorp, the black comedy crime show attracted 289,000 subway viewers overnight.
Channel Seven won the night overall with a very strong audience share of 35 per cent, with Channel Nine a clear second with 30.1 per cent.
The ABC came in third with 13.7 per cent of the available audience, while Channel 10, with low ratings, came fourth with 13 per cent.
