Channel Seven has announced a new season of First Dates Australia, after the show was canceled in March 2020.
The reality show, based on a British format, follows singles who are looking for a love encounter in a romantic setting for the first time.
The show’s producers, Warner Bros. Australia, have announced a casting call for over 18s for the new season, which is expected to air in 2024.
Applicants for First Dates must be single and “sincerely looking for love.”

The show, narrated by comedian Sam Mac, ran on Channel Seven from 2016 to 2020 but was canceled due to poor ratings.
Channel 10 attempted to revive the format with a new season in 2022.
But the re-vamp, narrated by comedian Tommy Little, was also a ratings flop.
First Dates premiered on Channel Seven in February 2016 and averaged 870,000 prime-time viewers.
The series lost momentum over the four years, with the 2020 season averaging just 424,000 subway viewers – well below primetime benchmarks.
During its time on Seven, the show was not without off-screen drama, with a number of contestants unhappy with their performances.

The show’s producers, Warner Bros. Australia, have announced a casting call for over 18s for the new season, which is expected to air on Seven in 2024.
Teacher Sarah Pettersen, whose date with PE teacher Adam Parker aired in 2020, accused the network of making her look “stupid” and “illiterate.”
“I was devastated,” she told Sunday Confidential shortly afterwards.
“I don’t mind people making fun of my personality, but they made me look so stupid and I’m a teacher,” she added.
