The Channel Seven entertainment presenter has pulled off a bizarre stunt that has left his interviewees standing up.
Steve Hargrave, an English broadcaster known for his unique celebrity interviews and red carpet moments, spoke to A Quiet Place: Day One with Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o.
But the conversation got off to an awkward start when Hargrave, 46, shushed the actors, referring to the film where the characters had to remain absolutely silent during an alien invasion.
“Hi Steve,” Quinn started the interview before the host silenced him and put a finger over his mouth.
Hargrave then held up a piece of paper that read, “Hi Lupita and Joseph…I’m too scared to talk.”
The three sat in more than 15 awkward seconds of silence, as Quinn glanced at his co-star Nyong’o before the interviewer put up a sign that read, “Well, this is awkward.”
The actors laughed nervously before Hargrave officially began the interview.
Hargrave has had his fair share of cringe-inducing celebrity interviews on Sunrise over the years, but it can’t top former Seven star Samantha Armytage’s toe-curling sketch with Sex and the City star Kristin Davis.

The 47-year-old made headlines in 2016 after a skit with Davis, in which Armytage wore a blonde curly wig and pretended to play Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw.
The awkward segment – which was later criticized by Davis himself – led to the breakfast TV presenter receiving a barrage of violent threats on social media.
During the segment that aired eight years ago, Davis was asked to reenact a scene from Sex and the City in which her character announced her engagement to the other cast members.
Davis had appeared on the Seven program hoping to speak about her work with refugees in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“Oh, guys. I don’t know what’s happening,” she said when asked to take part in the skit. “You guys really drive me crazy.”

Armytage, Edwina Bartholomew and Natalie Barr donned costumes for the role play.
Barr wore a ginger wig that resembled the signature hairstyle of character Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon.
Bartholomew, on the other hand, didn’t have to do much, as her straight blonde hair already made her the Samantha Jones of the group.
Davis told the hosts after the skit, “I want you to know I’ve never done this before.” Honestly, I don’t know if this is a good idea. No offense.”
She later complained on Twitter that she wasn’t given enough time to discuss her charity work during her Sunrise appearance.

“Hopefully someone will let me talk about @Refugees,” the actress tweeted.
Speaking about the incident years later, Armytage revealed that she never wanted to do the “dumb” skit, but felt pressured to participate by Sunrise producers who thought it would be funny.
‘The day before [skit]upstairs in the office when the producers said, “We’re going to do this tomorrow,” I just thought, “Really? That’s so boring,” she told the Brains Trust podcast in 2021.
‘I had days where I thought, “I got a journalism degree from university, should I really be doing this kind of thing?” But you do it because it’s your job.’
