Farmer Wants a Wife has been a major blockbuster for Seven.

The long-running dating show scored a huge national average audience of 1.01 million viewers, according to new TV ratings system VOZ.

It comes as this year’s season’s farmers choose their final two ladies after several 24-hour romantic dates on Sunday night’s episode.

At the final farewell dinner, Farmer Brad chose Clare and Morgan, Farmer Brenton chose Rachel and Sophie, Farmer David chose Emily and Lorelei, and Farmer Matt chose Annabelle and Olivia.

Samantha Armytage took over as host for this season of FWAW, replacing Natalie Gruzlewski – who continues to appear on the show in a reduced role.

Within the first 15 minutes of the show, Natalie, 46, was seen alone in several frames, where she interviewed previous couples, while Samantha was featured a lot as she introduced the new contestants.

Sam joined the dating show last year as a “guest host,” but her small role has now expanded as Natalie “winds down” her duties.

Natalie will host her own “Nat’s Getaway” segment during the 2023 season, with Sam “front and center” as the face of the franchise.

An insider recently told New Idea that Sam had successfully won over network executives by transferring her presentation skills to the reality TV world.

“She’s in a place now where she can get just about anything she wants,” they said.

They added that Sam was an ambitious woman who was already considering further opportunities with Seven after moving from breakfast show Sunrise to FWAW.

‘Sam has plans. She cleverly stayed on the network’s radar, knowing that if she landed and landed a starring role like in FWAW, doors would open.”

Farmer Wants A Wife continues on Tuesdays at 7.30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus
