Channel Nine star shares horrific family tragedy as she reveals her husband was left fighting to walk after surf accident

Kendall Gilding has revealed her husband’s horrific injuries after an accident in the surf.

Her partner Tim Morgan was dumped in a sandbank at Burleigh Beach in Queensland by a rough wave last week.

He injured his back and was taken from the beach by paramedics in a neck brace, with initial fears that he would not be able to walk again.

In a post shared to Instagram, the 32-year-old documented Tim’s painful recovery process.

‘A heartbreaking end to our annual holiday. Or should I say: broken back? Maybe it’s too early for jokes?’ she began her caption.

‘This weekend we went to Burleigh beach for one last swim. A quick 10 minute adventure. That’s it,” she continued.

‘Tim was badly dumped by a wave and landed headfirst in a sandbank. What happened next was just as traumatic when he blacked out on the beach. Thanks to the lifeguards!

‘If anyone knows the name of Burleigh’s head lifeguard, please let me know? He is also a certified paramedic. I would like to thank him personally!’

She continued, “Many people with these types of injuries can no longer walk. Praise God, Tim is doing well and will recover in time!

‘Christmas, school holidays and 2025 suddenly look very different, but we have a beautiful village that supports us!’

Kendall shares children Olive, four, and Moses, one, with her husband Timothy.

Earlier this year, the long-time Channel Seven journalist officially moved to rival Network Nine breakfast show Today.

She made her debut on the early morning program on Tuesday when she performed during a live cross to Queensland.

The newsreader covered a crime wave west of Brisbane and shone in her new role after 12 years as a fill-in reporter at Seven.

Kendall distanced herself from her former employers after her shocking exit from the network last year.

The experienced newsreader has been a recognizable face on Channel Seven for more than ten years, but resigned from her role in December in a ‘radical step’.

In February, she went a step further and attempted to delete all traces of Seven from her social media accounts, just weeks after leaving her previous job.

Kendall shared a video on Instagram telling her fans that she had deleted the word “seven” from her Instagram account.

With a big smile of delight, the presenter, who at the time was self-employed as an aspiring influencer and columnist, said: ‘This is a post celebrating the fact that we are Kendall Gilding and not Kendall Gilding Seven!’

The big change comes after Kendall shocked fans with the news that she was quitting her role on Channel Seven in December.

In a radio announcement, she hinted at her next steps, while quashing rumors that she would quit to become a full-time mother.

‘Friday is my last day. I read the 6 p.m. news all week. This prayer is not a moment of madness, but rather a radical step of courage,” she said at the time.

‘I am not going to be a stay-at-home mother, I have no intention of leaving the media. Looking forward to a great 2024, ready to work harder than ever! Stay tuned.’

After her departure from Seven, Kendall became very active on social media, promoting brands as well as her column for QWeekend magazine.

She started her journalism career in 2011 as a presenter on Brisbane radio station 96five Family Radio and later that year she started working for Seven.
