Channel Nine reporter Charles Croucher has revealed how he brutally parted ways with the network’s London office this week.

Croucher recently spent time in Britain covering Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, along with members of Nine’s foreign news agencies.

Last week, he publicly praised his British colleagues on Instagram, calling them “special people” in a gushing post.

But days after returning home to Australia, Croucher was unceremoniously dumped from the London agency’s WhatsApp group without getting a chance to say goodbye.

Croucher posted to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, sharing a screenshot showing that he had been blocked by the group.

Woke up to a brutal eviction from the London agency WhatsApp. No ground for appeal. [Waving emoji] Friends,” he wrote.

In the chat, London-based Nine producer Shellie Doyle wrote: “I just realized Crouch is still in this chat. Time to dump him.”

“Bye Crouch,” wrote Carrie-Anne Greenbank, European correspondent for Nine News.

“Thanks for crashing,” Doyle added, before blocking Croucher at 3:07 a.m. AEST.

It comes amid reports that Croucher is preparing to replace Chris Uhlmann as Nine’s newest political chief reporter.

Uhlmann announced his retirement earlier this year, but Nine has not yet announced his replacement.

However, last month TV Black Box reported that rising star Croucher was tipped to take the position.
