Channel 7’s Kylie Gillies was impressed when she interviewed her childhood hero: ‘If only this little girl from Tamworth knew she’d have the chance to do this’
Channel 7 presenter Kylie Gilles was moved on air after interviewing one of her favorite celebrities.
Legendary Happy Days actor Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz, appeared on This Morning on Thursday and Kylie was thrilled to chat with her childhood hero.
Despite interviewing many stars throughout her career, her conversation with Henry, 77, was a bucket list moment for the presenter.
Kylie, 56, took to Instagram and shared a childhood photo with her 150,000 followers as she discussed what it was like chatting with The Fonz.
The photo shows a pre-teen Kylie wearing a red T-shirt with “The Fonz” written on it.

She captioned the photo, “This is me at about age 10 wearing a ‘The Fonz’ t-shirt. Do you remember Fonzie from the TV show Happy Days?
Well today on This Morning we interviewed Henry Winkler. If only this little girl from Tamworth knew then she’d get the chance to do that, she’d never believe it.’
The presenter said his face was also on the shirt as he wrote, but that’s just not shown in the old photo.

She added, “Plus, the t-shirt was homemade. Mom used a transfer from a magazine, ironed it on and we drew Fonzie’s image in Hobbytex. Think Hobbytex!!
‘Today was a good day. Henry/Fonzie said it warmed his heart. Also mine.’
At the end of their interview, Kylie showed the actor the photo of her wearing the shirt, and he told her she had “great taste in clothes.”
He added, “You know what, that warms my heart, thanks for letting me know.”
