A Channel 4 reality show may not get the green light to return in what has proved to be the latest shake-up to the broadcaster’s schedule.
The Bridge – which is hosted by presenter AJ Odudu – has apparently been ditched and won’t air this summer like the previous series, however bosses have claimed that discussions surrounding the programme are ‘ongoing’.
An insider at the show reportedly told the Sun: ‘Channel 4 have not yet committed to another series of The Bridge.
‘While execs are still in active discussions over a potential third series it’s not looking likely it will return this year.’
When approached for comment a spokesperson for the broadcaster said: ‘Conversations are on-going about future series.’

The show sees 16 people join forces to win a big money prize, but they are unaware of the challenge ahead before they can take the £200,000 home.
The challenge sees a party of strangers must working together to build a floating walkway, using wood and rope. They are given all the tools but none of the expertise.
The contestants were carefully overseen by explorer Aldo Kane as they completed nerve-racking challenges to compete for the cash prize.

Kim Blackman – who bagged last year’s £175,000 prize, split her winnings with fellow competitors Shaun Pelayo after romance blossomed on the show.
The first series of the show was filmed near a lake in north Wales before the location was switched to a far more exotic Vietnam for series two.
The prize money doubled from £100,000 and the competition has doubled as well, with two teams vying for the cash.
As the Bridge’s future hangs in the balance, it is believed that its host AJ has signed up to be the new host of the remodelled edition of Big Brother on ITV2.

AJ sent Big Brother fans into a frenzy as they claimed she dropped a huge hint that she will host the upcoming reboot.
The presenter has reportedly been in talks with ITV2 bosses to front the long-awaited revival later this year, and she quickly caught fans’ attention when she hosted the semi-final draw for the Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday.
Hosting the draw with Rylan Clark, AJ repeated one of ex-Big Brother host Davina McCall’s most iconic catchphrases, leading many fans to claim that she must have already landed the hosting gig.
AJ and Rylan hosted the draw for this year’s Eurovision in the host city of Liverpool, with the UK seet to present the European music event on behalf of champions Ukraine, with the country unable to host due to their ongoing conflict with Russia.
During the show, as AJ prepared to pull out another country during the draw, she said: ‘Fancy another one?’
