Channel 4 has received a furious reaction after a transgender comedian stripped naked on live television before playing a keyboard with her penis.
The move – now being labeled “misogynistic”, “offensive” and giving rise to complaints at Ofcom – was streamed live on the channel’s Friday Night Live revival.
Singer Jordan Gray capped off an expletives song about her experiences as a trans woman when she performed the controversial stunt.
Among those who tweeted their criticisms was author Helen Joyce who labeled the moment “a sex crime committed on camera.” While idiots cheer and cheer.’
Another said: ‘I was so looking forward to watching Friday Night Live, a highlight as a teenager. Always a hit and miss show, but this is the first time I’ve felt really offended by an act…as a woman. The woman spat out vile and misogynistic song.’

More complaints came in as critics urged each other to report the event to Ofcom – the government-approved TV regulator.
One user tweeted: ‘I’d like to know how Ofcom is handling this? This kind of misogynistic perversion is not allowed on TV.’
Another tweeted a screenshot of those filing an Ofcom complaint, captioning it: “If anyone wants to do the same…”
“Jordan Gray’s misogyny and Channel 4 endorsement is appalling,” added another.
“It takes a lot to insult me. This worked. I don’t care if he pulls his kn*b, it’s the words I complain about.

The dramatic performance was part of the one-off return of the popular 1980s stand-up show, originally called Saturday Live, which Channel 4 aired as part of its 40th anniversary.
The show featured comedians who appeared in the original version of the show, such as Jo Brand and Harry Enfield, as well as new talent such as Gray and Rosie Jones, and was hosted by Ben Elton.
Before the performance, Gray, who was the first transgender singer on talent show The Voice in 2016, told her Twitter followers: “Tonight we make history.”
“I haven’t had a Yorkie bar in five years,” she said at the beginning of her set, in reference to the chocolate brand’s former slogan “it’s not for girls.”
Gray took the keyboard in a bright pink suit and said to the audience, “This is the coolest night of my life, you see me having the coolest night of my life.”
She opened the song with the lyrics, “I look into the faces in this room and wish I could crawl back into the womb.
“And start again, against God’s plans, with different glands and smaller hands.”
The dark curly-haired comedian added: “I wish the world would finally understand: I’m more than just a female Russell Brand.”
She then launched the comedy song that referenced the Chuckle Brothers’ “to me to you” skit before saying, “back to me now – this song is about me.”
The song transitions into her own version of Do-Re-Mi and increasingly intense keyboard playing.
As the song draws to a close, she says to the audience, “You know what’s best about live TV? I can do such stupid things!’
She then jumps off the piano before counting down “one, two, three”, taking off her suit and exposing herself completely.
After dancing around the stage, the naked comedian returns to the keyboard, shouts ‘See you Friday at the London Palladium b*****s’ and briefly plays a few keys with her penis.
She jumps on top of the piano chair to a huge applause from the audience before leaving the stage.
After the skit, host Ben Elton joked “that’s what I call a kn*b gag.”
The 90-minute show, which aired Friday at 9 p.m., also featured appearances from Julian Clary, Stephen Fry, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
