Channel 10’s Narelda Jacobs shares shocking email a viewer sent to her about her on-air attire

Channel 10 presenter Narelda Jacobs has sent a shocking email to the newsroom about an outfit she wore on air on Tuesday.

Respected Australian journalist, 48, presenter of the afternoon bulletin 10 News First, wore a V-neck blouse paired with a patterned blazer as she discussed the day’s headlines.

A viewer branded her ensemble as ‘inappropriate’ in an email sent to her and Ten.

They even went so far as to say ‘cleavage is for the nightclub’.

Jacobs shared a screenshot of the rude email on her Instagram page.

‘Inappropriate dress sense when reading the news. Cleavage is for the nightclub,” the email read.

In response to this unsolicited advice, Jacobs expressed her dissatisfaction.

“Yes, we still receive emails like this,” she wrote.

“Yes, it went to the entire newsroom. Yes, I was on the air at the time. Yes, it is meant to shame and humiliate me. No, what I’m wearing isn’t inappropriate, but your email certainly is.’

The post received immediate support from Jacobs’ followers and colleagues, with many sharing their own experiences with unfounded criticism.

Dessert Masters judge Melissa Leong commented: ‘File under ‘If you really hate yourself, you decide to email random strangers to tell them.’

Similarly, retired swimmer and former weather presenter Giaan Rooney reflected on her own experiences.

‘Yes. The number of emails the newsroom received attacking everything about my appearance when I presented it again was unbelievable,” she stated.
