Channel 10 star reveals their shock health diagnosis on live TV: ‘It’s been a few weeks’

Studio 10 host Tristan MacManus has revealed his health struggles after being away from the morning show for the past few weeks.

The Irish personality, 40, who is married to Tahyna Tozzi, revealed that after a tough few weeks he had a bad knee, muscle spasms in his chest and ‘near paralysis in his arm’.

Tristan said he has a total of three disc bulges on his neck that have caused him a lot of pain.

On Wednesday, however, he made his big comeback in Studio 10.

“I really missed you too. It’s been a great few weeks, folks,” he said in his presentation chair.

“I’ve been quiet and I didn’t really know what was going on. I really had a ligament knee,” he began.

“I had muscle spasms in my chest, which I thought was my heart. In my arm I lost feeling in my arm for a few days… I almost had paralysis in my arm.’

‘I ran around Sydney to see surgeons and specialists. I have three bulges in my neck and one pinched nerve.’

He went on to say he had a cortisone shot in his neck, which helps with pain relief.

‘I got a cortisone injection in my neck. It’s great to be back and also for my head. It’s good to be back folks,” he said.

The former Strictly star joined Studio 10 in 2020 alongside former co-host Sarah Harris.

In November, Sarah announced she was leaving the show to appear on The Project.

The program has had a revolving door of presenters over the years, with Ita Buttrose, Joe Hildebrand and Kerri-Anne Kennerly leaving guest roles.

It comes after fans criticized Channel 10 for replacing Carrie Bickmore with Sarah Harris as The Project’s new presenter, labeling the choice as ‘uninspired’.

Carrie, 41, announced her shock departure from the current affairs show in October after 12 years on the air.
