In the video, she said: “Please don’t judge me for the fact that I’m in the same outfit, in the same place, just with extra grease in my hair and a pair of glasses.” For the rest I am exactly the same as yesterday’s post.

“Just wanted to say thank you all for the lovely messages of support and sometimes feeling the same way and the recognition that life can suck.

‘Anyway, I’m not going to bore you, I just wanted to let everyone know that everything is completely fine.

Chanelle admitted that “being an adult is hard” and that she doesn’t like to put on a fake smile on social media because “things aren’t always great.”

She continued: ‘It was just one rubbish day in a really rubbish week. I like to keep my Instagram reflective and transparent to what my real life is like.

“A lot of people just post highlights, which is completely fine, they share what they want to share, but sometimes being an adult is hard and social media can be really boring.”

“You see all this stuff about everything being great, but you just sat there not feeling so great, so my post was about showing how it’s easy to put on a smile and highlight the good stuff when we really could use the realization that things aren’t always are like that.” Great.’

She wrote: ‘Happy new year guys…or nah? I haven’t really posted much over Christmas and New Years as I had a lot of work to do for both my degree, actual work and then obviously trying to squeeze all of this into spending quality time with family. It’s been a lot. I feel challenged.

“I feel a little lost and overwhelmed by how quickly the years go by and that I may not move anywhere with them. As if it was stuck.

“I have seen so many fabulous, happy and celebratory posts in the last few weeks and with good reason.

“But I really didn’t see anyone acknowledging that so many people are sad this time of year.

‘I bet many of us are, but behind our screens and through our feeds we paint a different picture.

“I just wanted to post to say it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, there’s no need to hide it, and I’m not.

‘This week has been rubbish and I have so much to do this year that I’m dreading it, my stomach is in knots. If you feel this way too, you’re not alone #mentalhealthawareness #depressionawareness #anxietyawareness #parenting #beingadult #overwhelmed #lavidaebeautiful #wecanmakeitdifficult #love.
