Chanelle Hayes reveals she changed her bridal dress just weeks before her wedding after another star wore the same gown – but fans don’t recognise it

Chanelle Hayes has revealed that she changed her wedding dress just weeks before her wedding after another star wore the same dress.

The 36-year-old former Big Brother star married Dan Bingham in an intimate wedding ceremony at The Northorpe Barn in Yorkshire in July, two years after their engagement.

But Chanelle only bought the dress the day before the wedding, after deciding to have her dress altered at the last minute.

On Tuesday, the reality star took to Instagram to show off how she added off-the-shoulder tulle sleeves to change it up, after noticing that another star had worn the exact same dress to their wedding.

However, fans were left wondering who the person Chanelle was referring to was, as they didn’t recognise the original dress at all.

The former Big Brother star, 36, married Dan Bingham in an intimate wedding ceremony at The Northorpe Barn in Yorkshire in July, two years after their engagement.

They wrote: ‘Does anyone want to know who the other lady was?!?’ and ‘I wonder who wore the original dress’.

Comparing photos of the gorgeous original beaded bodice and spaghetti straps gown with the modified version, Chanelle wrote: ‘I never told anyone except my family and bridesmaids.

‘My wedding dress had to be replaced urgently a few weeks before my wedding, because another famous lady wore the exact same dress as me for her special day.

“I didn’t want to have any ‘who wore it best?’ polls or nonsense, because we all have our perfect days and it’s not fair.

‘The dress has been modified from version A: spaghetti straps without a belt to version B: off-shoulder tulle sleeves with a belt at the bottom of the corset.

‘I personally think the modified version B suited me better and I’m so glad fate intervened and let me make these modifications. Now I’m giving the floor to you… which version do you prefer for me??’

Although Chanelle didn’t want a poll on who wore the dress best, she did post a poll on her Instagram on which dress she liked best, and fans told her they loved the changes she made.

Nicola McClean wrote: ‘I love the changes you’ve made so much, they’re absolutely gorgeous x’ and ‘Oh my goodness, those changes were intentional as you and the dress look absolutely stunning!’

“You look so happy and beautiful.”

However, fans were left wondering who the person Chanelle was referring to was, as they didn’t recognize the dress at all

But Chanelle didn’t pick up her dress until the day before the wedding, after deciding to alter it at the last minute

Chanelle previously revealed that the dress also had to be taken in after she lost even more weight following a flare-up of myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

Myalgic encephalomyelitis, also called chronic fatigue syndrome or ME/CFS, is a condition that causes extreme fatigue and a range of other symptoms

The Big Brother star underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2020, dropping her from a size 16 to a size 14, losing 120 pounds.

“We got married on Friday (June 28) and I couldn’t pick it up until after 4pm on Thursday. It was horrible – I kept thinking, ‘It’s okay, Dan said he was going to marry me in a bin bag!’ I felt amazing on my wedding day but I didn’t expect to be this thin,” she said. OK! Magazine.

“It’s full of glitter and pearls, and I never thought I would like that. I thought I would have something simple, but I ended up going for the opposite.

‘I only went to one shop – Love and Cherish Bridal Boutique in Ossett – and I think it was the fifth dress I tried on.

;I went shopping with my mom and a couple of bridesmaids and as soon as I put it on we were all like, ‘This is it.’ I also didn’t think I would want a veil, but I changed my mind about that too.’

Chanelle announced her engagement to Dan in May 2022.

BB’s former housemate was reportedly ‘over the moon’ and said ‘yes straight away’. A source told OK! magazine: ‘She’s been dreaming about this for so long.’

‘Chanelle has had a really tough time in relationships, but this time it really feels like she has found The One.’

“She’s already planning her wedding and can’t wait to finally get married. She’s been dreaming about this for so long.”

The TV personality is in a relationship with her ex-partner Matthew Bates, with whom she had a son, Blakely, between 2009 and 2010.

She also has Frankie, four, with Edward Oates, with whom she had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2016 to 2017.
