Budapest will host the Champions League final for the first time in the city’s history in 2026, UEFA has confirmed.
UEFA today announced the locations for the 2026 and 2027 European competitions.
The big news was that Hungary would host the 2026 Champions League final at the Puskas Arena, which has a capacity of 67,215 people.
However, there have been delays in the decision on the 2027 Champions League showpiece.
UEFA is awaiting information from the Italian Football Federation about renovation plans for Milan’s San Siro stadium.

AC Milan and Inter Milan announced their intention to build a new stadium in June 2019, for the start of the 2022–2023 season, but this did not happen.
Beppe Sala, the mayor of Milan, wants to keep the two sides at the San Siro by renovating the stadium.
He believes that changes to the existing stadium could bring it to the necessary level for the clubs in terms of revenue and infrastructure, and promised a feasibility study for the possible renovations in June.
Calcio Mercato However, reported in February that both clubs still exist not convinced to stay at San Siro and would prefer to build a new stadium owned by the club elsewhere in Milan.
The Rossoneri have bought an area in San Donato, just outside the Lombardy capital, while Inter are developing their own project in Rozzano.
It is still unclear whether the two clubs will remain at San Siro and whether a renovated stadium will be ready in time for the 2027 Champions League final.
This year’s Champions League final will take place at Wembley Stadium between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, while next year’s showpiece will take place at the Allianz Arena – home of Bayern Munich.
UEFA has also confirmed that the 2026 Europa League final will take place at Besiktas Park in Istanbul, while the 2027 final will take place at Stadion Frankfurt.
