Chaka Khan BEATS Adele, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige

Chaka Khan has criticized the ‘blind bats’ who ranked her 29th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.

Posted on New Year’s Day, the list featured bold names like Beyoncé, Adele and Mariah Carey ahead of Chaka.

Appearing on the Los Angeles Magazine podcast The originalsChaka, 69, claimed that he had never heard of the list before the presenter mentioned it.

When told that Adele was ahead of her, Chaka complained, “Okay, I’m quitting,” and when she heard Mariah was at number 5, she said, “That must be payola or something.”

Upon learning that Mary J. Blige was ranked ahead of her, Chaka erupted: ‘These bitches are blind as a fucking bat! They need headphones. Don’t have headphones? They don’t have eyes. They don’t have ears. They must have a – these bitches, you know what? These must be Helen Keller’s children!

Chaka and Mary have had a checkered relationship for decades, but in recent years they seemed to have grown closer.

In 1992, Mary released a cover of Sweet Thing, a song Chaka performed in 1975 when he was a member of the band Rufus.

Chaka evidently did not like the cover, and he began to describe Sweet Thing at his own concerts as “the song that Mary J. Blige fucked up”.

However, by 2007, the two women seemed to have patched things up well enough to record a breakup duet called Disrespectful.

On the new podcast, when Chaka was told that Beyoncé was ranked eighth on Rolling Stone’s list, she hesitated, then responded, “I’m not going to comment on that.”

Chaka, who years ago denied reports that he called Beyoncé a ‘b****’, said: ‘I have nothing to say about Beyoncé. She’s a great singer, okay?

She added: ‘She really has a chance to be a great singer. She has what she needs. She’s got the chops, she’s got them, okay?

Joan Baez was at the bottom end of the list at No. 189, leading Chaka to observe, “Let’s be honest, the bitch can’t sing. She was now a good writer.

Meanwhile, Aretha Franklin was in first place, “as it should be”, and Whitney Houston was in second place, which Chaka thought was “cool”.

Debbie Harry trailed at No. 160 “because she can’t sing either,” Chaka sneered, while Christina Aguilera was at No. 141 was “whatever.” A lot of blacks like Christina Aguilera. She is fine.’

Chaka, who doesn’t mince words about her fellow singers, previously addressed Ariana Grande in a 2020 interview with comedian Luenell on Vlad TV.

Ariana sang with Chaka on the song Nobody for the 2018 film Charlie’s Angels, which starred Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.

When Luenell asked if Chaka would work with Ariana again, Chaka said, “No, f*** her,” laughing and shaking her head. ‘No, she’s fine. She is good alone.

Chaka explained that ‘I don’t want to sing with another woman. I have nothing to say, okay, with a woman. You say it for yourself. Say what you want, and we’re not going to talk about any man. We’re not going to do any of that. It’s not happening, okay?

Luenell gleefully called her ‘boss ***’ after her response and Chaka said, ‘I’m not going to do any songs without a heifer.’

However in the same interview she said: ‘She’s a great singer. She is her own planet too. Her own planet, and you know, she’s great. I understand it I have it I love it. bam!
