Chad Satchell: Stripper who sparked Perth CBD lockdown by dressing up as a sexy SWAT team officer complete with a fake machine gun learns his fate

The ‘Sexy SWAT’ stripper who caused chaos in Perth’s CBD when he carried a fake assault rifle has been fined.

Chad Satchell, a blasting technician who also runs an adult entertainment company, was in King St when he retrieved a gel blaster from his car while getting dressed for a performance in front of 50 women on a party bus in 2022.

The 32-year-old claimed he thought the banned weapon was a ‘replica’ and also called it a ‘toy gun’ which he briefly held.

He was dressed in black clothing, including a vest with “The Chad” on the front and “SWAT” on the back.

But police soon acted after receiving multiple triple-0 calls from members of the public and arrested him.

Satchell was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and arming himself in a manner likely to cause fear.

He stood trial at the Perth Magistrates Court last year and Magistrate Sarah Oliver reserved her decision.

On Thursday he was found guilty of possessing a prohibited weapon, but was acquitted of the other charge. He was fined $500.

He was awarded $2,500 in costs and a conviction.
