Centrelink hit by widespread outage with Aussies unable to access some services

Centrelink services crashed with thousands of Australians battling after being unable to access the website.
Downdetector – an online platform that monitors real-time outages – revealed that the problem with some Centrelink services started early on Wednesday morning at 1am.
At 8:30 a.m., a huge spike in the number of outages occurred, which dipped before rising again across Australia at 10:00 a.m.
Sixty-two percent of the reports suggest problems with the website, while another 28 are related to the mobile app.
Ten percent of people complained that they couldn’t log in.

On Twitter, Commonwealth Bank confirmed it was aware of a ‘delay’ in processing Centrelink and tax payments.
“We expect this to be completed by 11 a.m. today,” the account tweeted.
Services Australia’s official Twitter account has yet to respond to reports of the outage.
