A train and a car have collided on New South Wales’ central coast, causing transport chaos for commuters heading home this weekend.

The passenger train hit the sedan at a junction at Woy Woy around 6pm before dragging the vehicle along the tracks.

No one was in the car at the time and no one was injured.

Passengers have been removed from the train. None of them were injured.

There are now lengthy delays as there are no trains running in either direction between Hawkesbury River and Gosford.
