Center publishes national minimum standards and protocols for day care centers

The Center has introduced a set of minimum national standards and protocols aimed at regulating the operation and management of crèches, with a focus on children aged six months and above.

As per the guidelines of the Union Women and Child Development Ministry, crèches can be established in a wide range of spaces including offices, residential apartments, schools, hospitals, cooperative offices or any other suitable location. The guidelines emphasize the importance of prioritizing the safety and comfort of children in nurseries. This includes preferences for ground floor locations for easy access.

If they are located on other floors, the nurseries must strictly adhere to the necessary safety measures.
