Boston fans were harassed on social media for leaving early as the Celtics were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of their second-round series.

After Boston dominated Game 1 with a 120-95 win, the Cavaliers upset the Celtics with a 118-94 win to tie the series at 1-1.

With just over five minutes to go, fans on social media mocked the Bostonians for clearing the stands early. One user posted a clip of their departure, writing: ‘Celtics fans heading home with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Boston Sports fans are the most fraudulent sports fan base ever.”

‘Is there a fire drill???’ another responded.

Additionally, a photo of a Celtics fan with a tattoo of the word “doubt” with the last three letters crossed out went viral as the Cavaliers cruised to a victory.

“Bro had Celtics -13.5 hands down,” one user joked about the fan.

Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell scored 29 points with seven rebounds and eight assists as Cleveland outscored its opponent in all but the second quarter.

Mitchell’s performance made him the only player, besides LeBron James, to score at least 25 points in five consecutive playoff games in a Cavaliers jersey.

All five of the Cavs’ starters saw double figures, with Evan Mobley tallying 21 points and ten boards. Darius Garland scored 14 points, while Max Strus and Isaac Okoro scored 12 each.

Additionally, Caris LeVert had a great performance off the bench, scoring 21 points in 27 minutes.

On the other end, Jayson Tatum led the Celtics’ losing effort with 25 points and seven rebounds. Although Jaylen Brown put up a respectable 19-point performance, he struggled in other areas, with four rebounds and an assist.
