Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contestant John Barrowman is branded ‘pathetic’ by viewers as he vomits and quits the show just 32 MINUTES after arriving at base camp

John Barrowman was branded ‘pathetic’ by viewers of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins when he quit the show after just 32 minutes in Sunday’s opening episode.

The 57-year-old former Doctor Who actor was among a host of other celebrities undergoing SAS winter training in New Zealand’s South Islands.

John, who spoke candidly about the revealing allegations he faced in 2021 that led him through the DOI jury during his run on the show, began vomiting shortly after arriving at base camp for the first challenge.

After the candidates put on their military uniforms, the actor started panting and shouted, “I’m in.”

When asked by expert Mark Billingham if he wanted to see a doctor, John said: ‘No, I’m done. I just know, it’s not for me, I know who I am and what I stand for, it’s not for me’.

As the voiceover said, “After only 32 minutes on the bases, No. 13 John is the first recruit to leave the job.”

Viewers had little sympathy for the actor, calling him “pathetic” and a “diva.”

Writing: ‘Never seen anything more pathetic in my life. I bet you thought this might be a chance at redemption too. Oops!’: ‘Sad John Barrowman’: ‘John Barrowman 32 minutes’: ‘FFS John Barrowman, I knew you were a diva, didn’t think you were a huge wimp, certainly didn’t do yourself any favors there’.

‘I hope John Barrowman didn’t get paid for that pathetic performance’: ‘Can’t believe John Barrowman left the only show that would actually give him a job after 32 minutes. What a jerk’.

During the episode, John addressed allegations that he had repeatedly exposed himself on the set of the BBC One science fiction series Doctor Who and its sister series Torchwood.

He said: ‘The press claimed I was putting my dick on everyone’s shoulders.

‘That ruined me, but this course is going to help me get through it. I want people to see what kind of person I really am.’

He later added: ‘In Doctor Who and Torchwood I had to do a lot of nudity. If I was stupid, I did something stupid.

Viewers had little sympathy for the actor, calling him “pathetic” and a “diva.”

‘I would shake and wobble, or I would do a scene where one of my balls was hanging out of my body.

“The press has said that I had a sexual deviation. We’ve all done stupid things and foolish things, but what has been said about me will never go away.”

This came after John admitted that he considered committing suicide after being accused. He said his world had collapsed and his TV career had ground to a halt.

John said he fell into a deep depression, so much so that he considered committing suicide. The Mirror: ‘I had thoughts about suicide, went out and tried to do certain things and hurt myself, and a few times I thought about how I was going to kill myself. The thing was I couldn’t do it because of my family and friends,’

John publicly apologized in May 2021 after it emerged that he had flashed cast members on the sets of Doctor Who, where he originated the role of Captain Jack Harkness in 2005 and the spin-off series Torchwood a year later.

The actor described his actions as “foolishness” that he “would never do again” but strongly criticized critics who he said portrayed his actions as “sexual harassment.”

He was later removed from Dancing On Ice after pressure from, among others, Conservative MP Alec Shelbrooke. Shelbrooke said it would be wrong to include him in a ‘family show’ as it could amount to ‘condoning’ his past behaviour.

Despite his dismissal from Dancing On Ice, John controversially continued to appear in All Star Musicals, another ITV show. He was also forced to cancel his Centre Stage tour due to poor ticket sales.

He said: ‘It was a stupid joke that was played by the cast members and the cast members never complained or said anything about it. However, a story was created that I was apparently going around throwing my dick on people’s shoulders, which was not true.

“We had jokes, but they were between members of the company and we were all laughing and having fun. I was, in a sense, publicly punished and humiliated for those things and also canceled.”

John said he was devastated by being called a “sexual harasser” and insisted he “would never do anything to hurt a woman or a man or anyone, transgender, you name it.”
