Mindy shared what it’s like making party plans for A-listers and said people would be surprised to know how helpful her clients are.

Although she joked that she was “always afraid” that she would run out of themes for all 13 children in the Kardashian clan, the party planning pro said the themes are usually given to her.

“Usually the girls (and Rob sometimes) call and tell us the theme,” she told Today, adding: “They involve the kids 100 percent.”

The planner revealed that the famous family is one of the most hands-on clients she has worked with.

‘People think that [the Kardashians] “I wouldn’t be involved and just leave it to me, but they are the most creative family I think I’ve ever worked with,” she shared.

Once Mindy knows the theme, she works with a team to put the event together.

‘Every event we think: “Oh my God. How are we going to do that?’” she admitted, adding that because most of the events she manages are near or in Los Angeles, she can “find 98 percent of the events she manages.” ‘ of what she needs.

Mindy was behind Kylie Jenner’s daughter Stormi’s extravagant fifth birthday party, which included a giant inflatable gray ‘Astroworld’ tunnel of her daughter’s head – inspired by her father Travis Scott’s album covers – and custom T-shirts.

Mindy, who admits she’s a Disney fan herself, also showed off her planning expertise at her extravagant baby shower for Khloe Kardashian and Travis Barker in September 2023, which was featured on season 5 of The Kardashians.

She also prides herself on her attention to detail, noting the vintage Disney character vases she found for the flower shower.

Although she’s often told that details like a character vase will go unnoticed by the hosts, Mindy says Kourtney loved the addition — she even wanted them for her baby’s room.

Despite Kourtney testing positive for COVID before the event, Mindy came up with a solution: moving the couple away from the other guests so they could enjoy the party without infecting their guests.

“Rather than getting overwhelmed by different things going on, it’s better to take one incident at a time because I find there’s always a solution,” she noted, advising the hosts to reduce the crisis team to a small number of people so that ‘the entire appearance of the party’ is not disturbed.

“It may upset us that something didn’t work out or wasn’t there, but nine times out of 10 no one knows it should have been there.”

Elsewhere, Mindy has also given her top tips for improving any event – and some of them might surprise you.

Avoid goodie bags

The days of looking forward to a goody bag after the party are over, because they are now considered a bit passé, according to Mindy.

‘We have now given up goodie bags for art projects at the party. It’s an activity and a party,” she explained Today.

Encourage parties without gifts

Mindy is also fond of no gifts at parties, even for children.

“You as a parent can go to Target or wherever and buy them a birthday gift,” she stated, adding, “I wish my kids would do that.”

Hire some help

Instead of relying on the power of parents alone to keep an eye on a room full of kids, Mindy suggests getting professional help.

“We hire camp counselors who are almost like babysitters,” she explained.

“If you have a large group of children going somewhere other than your own home, hire four chaperones for 25 children,” she suggested.

”If there is a swimming pool, we hire lifeguards. It’s a great investment and you can enjoy the party and look at your child and not other people’s children,” Mindy added.
