Celebrity MasterChef: Sam Fox misses out on quarterfinals after wowing judges with her ‘unambitious’ street food dish
Sam Fox was the last star to be eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef on Thursday, just missing out on a place in the quarterfinals.
The former pop star and glamor model, 57, faced stiff competition from actress and singer Jamelia, Go Compare singer Wyn Evans and musician DJ Locksmith in the final heats of the BBC One show.
However, Sam left the judges in awe thanks to her “unambitious” street food dish in the final round, in which she served Funnel cakes.
After initially hearing her suggestion that the fried dough dish be served with nothing but powdered sugar, John and Gregg shared their concern that Sam’s meal would be too simple compared to the others.
And this was further emphasized when Sam served her dish to the judges, with Gregg remarking, “I would have loved to see you make some sauces.”

While John added that while he loved the batter and crispy bits, he “would like something different with it, that’s for sure.”
Reflecting on the judges’ comments, Sam later shared that when she thought about her street food dish, she thought sauces would be “messy,” adding that if she ate Funnel cakes at a market, she’d “want to pick and shop and go’. .
John went on to add her dish, “It was really tasty, but not that ambitious.”
After Sam won the cooking competition boat, he said, “No problem, I learned so much, thank you to my team.”
She added that she felt “privileged” to have taken part in the show, before joking, “My mom will be amazed I can multitask!”
