Celebrity landscaper Jamie Durie, 54, goes shirtless as he enjoys a surf in Sydney during a beach day with his family

Jamie Durie joined thousands Sydneysiders and took advantage of the warm weather at the beach this weekend.

The 54-year-old TV host and celebrity landscaper looked right at home catching some waves during a surf session.

Jamie left his wetsuit at home and basked shirtless in the sun and sea, showing off his tanned body in a pair of vibrant board shorts.

Together with his fiancée Ameka Jane and their children, daughter Beau, three, and son Nash, one, Jamie also enjoyed some quality family time.

Ameka wore a black bikini with an orange sarong around her waist as she held Nash in her arms and walked along the beach with Jamie and Beau.

Jamie’s love of surfing is well known. In June, he celebrated his 54th birthday by hitting the waves at Palm Beach.

The Backyard Blitz star recently moved into his six-story mega-mansion in Avalon Beach, two years after he managed to secure the proposed construction for a $2.7 million home approved.

Speak with Women’s Dayhe said the house had been a “lifelong dream” that took more than a decade to realize.

“It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to build an off-the-grid house,” he said.

‘Ten years ago I sketched the house. We submitted the plans five years ago and construction has taken place over the past two years.’

But the dream didn’t come without a few nightmares for Jamie.

The landscape guru received Northern Beaches Council approval for his development application (DA) for the waterfront site in April 2022, despite receiving more than 50 objections from angry locals.

His plans to demolish a 1960s cottage and replace it with a large six-story mansion for his family were first met with opposition from neighbors. who objected to the removal of 17 native trees.

Jamie has previously clarified that 1,518 native and endemic species will be planted on and around the site.

Jamie admitted on Women’s Day that he ‘regretted’ the stress the gigantic frame had put on his fiancée Ameka and their children.

“It’s the toughest project I’ve ever done in my life,” Durie said.

“I’m sorry for the stress this has caused our family.”
