Celebrity Gogglebox signs HUGE comedian for the hit Channel 4 series

Celebrity Gogglebox has bagged a huge comedy star to bring a laugh to the popular Channel 4 series.

Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby Kootstra will give a first look at their opulent London home.

The Canadian comedian, 39, said she is “thrilled” to take part in the hit show and gushed that she is very “thrilled” for viewers to see the inside of her home.

She said The sunIt’s usually just the dogs that see us watching TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home while we rest on our favorite spot – the sofa.

“We’ve been big Gogglebox fans for years and we’re thrilled to get involved.”

The couple is joined in the series by Zoe Ball, Johnny Ball and Woody Cook, Denise Van Outen and Duncan James, plus Shaun Ryder and Bez.

The news comes after All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewelery Star was axed after two seasons last month.

The popular competition show, helmed by Katherine, launched on BBC Two in April 2021, but plans for a third season have been scrapped. TV zone revealed.

The show was similar to Bake Off’s format, but with jewelry instead of cakes, with eight talented artisans battling it out in two tasks over six weeks.

Under the watchful eye of host Katherine and judges Shaun Leane, Solange Azagury-Partridge and Dinny Hall, the contestants would compete for the title of ‘Britain’s Next Jewelery Star’.

Jewelers took on a best-selling challenge, tasked with creating jewelry that met certain criteria Bespoke Brief, where they would create items requested by a member of the public.

All That Glitters had a respectable peak audience of 2.6 million during its launch show, with an average of 2.3 million, and was praised by critics.

Katherine previously said of the show’s success, “The jewelry making is so visual and satisfying to watch, but it’s the jewelers themselves who make the show unmissable.

“They’re all so warm and different, and they all have uniquely engaging personalities and stories that they bring to their craft.”

Despite losing her role in the BBC show, Katherine continues to pursue her blossoming comedy career.

The comic recently spoke to MailOnline about being a woman in a male-dominated field, explaining that she needed to find her own niche in comedy, something she felt was an advantage rather than a hindrance.

She explained, “I think I was in the unique positions of never being able to fit into a space that wasn’t mine or trying to change myself.

“I’ve always been pretty authentic to a mistake. Even when I tried to be a cheerleader or tried to be quiet because I thought that was the kind of woman people would like, I always came out as myself.”

She continued, “So I think I probably took advantage of the male-dominated industry when I started.

‘I am a great example of pedestal white feminism! I got to where I am today partly because I was different.

She advised, “Lean on your authentic self, you will never be as successful if you are making an impression of someone else.

“And forget those guys, I think they are more gladiators with each other than with us. It’s great to be different in this industry and if the guys want to ignore you and think their only competition is with each other then they’re going to be wrong.

Katherine is also kept busy by her three children, Fenna Grace, six months, Fred, two, and Violet, 13.
