Mutesi has been fighting wild claims that she is a ‘fake socialite’ who inflated her popularity with ‘fake’ followers on Instagram.
She has been accused of faking a “celebrity lifestyle” to gain access to red carpet events, endorsements and media appearances, including a recent appearance on Channel 10’s series The Challenge.
After months of rumors about her credibility, Azzopardi, a prominent Sydney stylist who has known Mutesi for years, opened the floodgates by giving a revealing interview about her to the so dramatic podcast.

“I love how he went from 200,000 followers before lockdown to 1.2 million and is on a reality show where he represents influencers,” he said.
According to Azzopardi, publicly available statistics on Social Blade, a website that tracks analytics for social media platforms, prove that she “bought 75,000 followers” ahead of Sydney Fashion Week, and “challenged” Mutesi to prove That I was wrong.
She also claimed that Mutesi bought automated comments, views and likes in an attempt to match her Instagram engagement to her inflated follower count, a claim she denied to Daily Mail Australia.
The couple have been embroiled in a feud for a few weeks.
‘Just release your ideas and I’ll stop talking. I admit I’m wrong, I don’t do it very often, but I will say publicly that I was wrong,” Azzopardi told the podcast.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last week, an emotional Ms Mutesi denied buying followers, saying her numbers were so high because she is ‘ambitious’.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mutesi dismissed all of Azzopardi’s claims and denied that he was misleading brands with his viewing numbers.

The Sydney-based influencer, who describes herself on Instagram as an ‘award-winning best author and actor’, said she ‘puts a lot of effort’ and that her large following is due to her having been around for a long time.
‘I used to work as a fashion designer before moving to Australia. I have traveled all over the world. I have items in Nigeria. I sing too,’ explained Mutesi.
“I have collaborated with international artists internationally, not just from Africa,” he added.

‘It saddens me to hear such words. These ridiculous claims are sad, pathetic and very childish,” Mutesi said of Azzopardi’s accusations.
Mutesi’s manager at the Sydney PR agency, Markson Sparks, also issued a statement denying the claims of ‘fake socialite’.
“Suzan stars in a major national reality show, The Challenge, on Channel 10 and has had a stellar career over the last 12 years,” they told Daily Mail Australia.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mutesi dismissed all of Azzopardi’s claims and denied that he was misleading brands with his viewing numbers.
‘Suzan starred opposite Jane Seymour in Ruby’s Choice earlier this year, she is an author and will publish a second book in 2023. She is also a fashion influencer, model and is very popular on social media.
‘Suzan has a huge fan base and I am very proud to be her manager. Thanks for her recent inquiry. It’s #fakenews’.
While Daily Mail Australia isn’t suggesting that Mutesi necessarily pays for his followers, a HypeAuditor report shows that only 45.25 per cent of his followers ‘look authentic’.
