Cedric Soares will sign for Fulham on loan with club covering ALL of his 100k-a-week Arsenal wages

Cedric Soares will sign on loan for Fulham this week and the club will cover ALL his £100,000 a week wages at Arsenal… while Marco Silva fulfills his wish to reunite with the defender he coached at Sporting Lisbon.
- Cedric Soares has barely played for Arsenal this season as a right-back
- The move should benefit both parties as Fulham add depth in defense
Defender Cedric Soares is heading from Arsenal to Fulham on loan, with the deal expected to be completed by the end of the week.
The Portuguese full-back will move to the club for six months, while Fulham will have no option/obligation to buy the player from the Gunners.
The measure was first reported by ESPN.
Soares is an experienced Premier League defender with 158 top-flight appearances, and Silva made it a priority to bring the 31-year-old to Craven Cottage this window.
Cedric Soares should play more for Fulham after playing twice for Arsenal this PL season
However, with zero league starts this season for Arsenal, Soares should be given the chance to play more time under his former manager.
Fulham will fully cover his salary, estimated at up to £100,000 a week, as Silva hopes the full-back will add a winning mentality and versatility to his team.
The two know each other well from their time together at Sporting Lisbon, where Silva coached Soares between 2014 and 2015.
Marco Silva made it a priority for the club to bring Soares this window to help his defense
Fulham have done very well so far this season without the incoming full-back, as they sit seventh with 31 points after Monday’s 1-0 loss to Spurs.
Meanwhile, the club have also held talks about a possible move for Real Valladolid right-back Iván Fresneda, although the teenager appears set to pick either Arsenal or Borussia Dortmund as his next destination.
Fulham’s next game is against Sunderland in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
