Fresh off the launch of Cyberpunk 2077‘s long-awaited DLC expansion, Phantom freedomCD Projekt Red has set its sights on the future of the Cyberpunk series, and according to narrative director Igor Sarzyński, the studio aims to somewhat follow in the footsteps of The witcher.

Sarzyński explained the way forward and noted that Cyberpunk 2077 was the team’s “first venture into a futuristic science fiction world”, and it pushed the developers with new mechanics and themes they had not explored before. “Some things worked almost right out of the box, like the art, the city design, the music, the interactive scene system and the play styles,” he said. “Other aspects took more time to get right, such as character progression, NPC interactivity, and optimization. That is normal; it is impossible to do everything on the first try.”
