CD Projekt Red veteran joins Rebel Wolves as studio begins work on dark fantasy RPG
Recently founded Polish studio Rebel Wolves has just appointed a new creative director and the future is clearly in reliable hands.
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz is the latest addition to the Rebel Wolves roster as creative director. Previously, Tomaszkiewicz spent nearly 13 years at CD Projekt Red, where he acted as quest director Cyberpunk 2077 and lead quest designer The Witcher 3. He also has experience working as the main narrative designer of the upcoming film League of Legends-Universal MMO at Riot Games.
“It’s great to join many of my old friends and meet new ones. I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been doing for a while,” Tomaszkiewicz said in a LinkedIn message celebrating his new job.
“There are so many fantastic RPGs out there these days. However, I feel that not only is there enough space, but also that there is a hunger among players for more compelling stories,” said Tomaszkiewicz (via VGC).
“We aim to provide an experience that allows for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed. Helping create this experience with so many talented people will be my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been working on for a while.”
There are plenty of other developers at Rebel Wolves who have previously worked on titles like The Witcher 3 And Cyberpunk 2077, such as Tomasz Tinc, the main publishing house. Currently, the Polish studio is working on a AAA story-driven RPG saga, which will be available on PCs and next-gen consoles, hopefully on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. So far, there is no more information about the upcoming RPG or when it will release.
