In the latest episode of their podcast “Twin Talk”Haley and Hanna Cavinder said their decision to leave the women’s basketball world wasn’t an easy one.

The 22-year-old twin sisters were split on whether or not to return to the University of Miami after helping the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight for the first time in history.

But after that success, it turns out that the girls did not agree on what to do in the future.

“We got into a fight, if you really want to know the tea, and I was like, ‘Hanna, I’m going back,’ and she said, ‘I’m not going back, I’m not doing it again,'” Haley said.

“We made it to the Elite 8, that was Hanna and I’s goal. Hanna didn’t want to play, so she made me stop playing basketball.’

Hanna (L) and Haley (R) Cavinder say their biggest argument was when deciding about their future

As for why she wanted to leave the women’s college basketball world — and the twins’ lucrative NIL deal — Hanna said the negative attention they received drove her away.

“Because of the two-pointed comments still going on in the two minutes, I was done,” she said.

“Plus, as a college athlete, you miss so much of your family, your life,” Haley continued. “…We just wanted to play for four years and we always dreamed of launching our businesses and launching a company and going down this path – so it was okay, whatever people have to say, whatever they have to say , do what you want to do. ‘

Hanna also added that burnout affected her game and her personal life.

“I’m not going to do something I’m not 100 percent committed to. If I chose to go back, it wouldn’t be right, I wouldn’t be completely happy with who I am.’

Haley said it took her about a month to make her final decision — while Hanna was determined to get them to stop playing basketball.

“The deciding factor, I’ve been on so many ‘hot girl walks’ and I was like, somebody’s making this decision for me because it’s causing me so much anxiety.”

Today, the Cavinder’s still create a lot of content and keep their lives busy and active – including through the WWE.

But they still got a lot of comments from people saying they should have stayed in Miami.

“Everyone will say, ‘Oh my God, you should have taken your fifth year,’ but when we were playing basketball, you hated us.

“You cannot please anyone and the opinion of others – we will never rely on a decision.”
