Causes, Symptoms and Treatments of Dragon Plague in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon Plague is one of the wildest and coolest mechanics in the world Dragon dogma 2. Unfortunately, it’s also a mechanic that can completely destroy your save file if you’re not careful – or, as the game calls it, “observant.”
In this Dragon dogma 2 guide, we will give you a brief explanation of what Dragonslague is. We’ll also tell you some common symptoms of Dragon Plague and show you how to fix it (if you’re unlucky enough to have your save file catch it).
What is Dragon Plague in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Dragon plague is a disease that can only be transmitted by pawns in Dragon dogma 2. It is also contagious and can jump from one pawn to another in your party. The above breakdown of RageGamingVideos has a lot of great details on Dragonsplague, and they have seen symptoms of the plague that I haven’t seen yet, so I recommend checking it out for a thorough explanation.
In short, Dragonsplague makes all infected pawns stronger and more effective in battle. However, it will also ultimately ensure that they do turn into a huge dragon and destroy the city you are currently resting in, where you kill every villager and save your game in the process. Not good!
There is a fairly simple way to determine whether or not you have encountered Dragonslague. If you’ve seen a pop-up tutorial about the disease in your game (the screenshot above), then you’ve seen it. If not, you’re free.
What are the Dragonslague symptoms in Dragon’s Dogma 2
There are a number of them Symptoms of Dragon Plague in Dragon dogma 2, and it looks like your infected pawn may exhibit some of them. However, not every infected pawn will show every symptom before becoming a monster of destruction capable of destroying an entire city.
Here are some common symptoms of Dragon Plague, and how to recognize them:
- Glowing red eyes — your pawn’s eyes glow legibly (easiest to spot in a dark room)
- Lethargy – you see how your pawn sits on the ground
- Headache – your pawn is holding his head or physically behaving as if he is in pain
- Independent action — your pawn no longer listens to commands such as ‘to me’ or ‘go’
- Sas — your pawn is overly animated, including (and especially) adopting a pose
- Increased strength – your pawn becomes strangely effective and strong in battle
Pawns are known for serving the Arisen at any cost. If your pawns start to deviate from that – no matter how excited you are to have a cheeky pawn (I know I would be) – you should consider trying to ‘cure’ them…
How do you cure Dragon Plague in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
‘Death’ is the only cure for Dragon Plague Dragon dogma 2. However, keep that in mind pawns can’t really die forever. When a pawn you summon bleeds to death, they simply leave your party. And if your main pawn dies, you can just summon him again from a Rift rock.
The most effective way to kill a pawn is to throw them off a cliff – either a very high pawn that takes them out via fall damage, or an above-water pawn that takes them out via the brine.
If you come into contact with Dragon Plague, the safest option is to kill all three of your pawnsRecall your main pawn and then summon two completely new pawns from a rift stone.
Can the Eternal Wakestone fix Dragonsplague?
You can fix Dragonsplague if you don’t catch it fast enough. Since Dragonsplague kills everyone in a city, you should use this a lot of by Wakestones to pick everyone up. But there is actually a much more efficient method: the Eternal Wakestone.
The Eternal Wakestone is a reward you can get by killing the Sphinx and obtaining its key Dragon dogma 2. This is a one-time use item, but will revive every dead NPC in a large area – you know, like a city that’s just been leveled by a Dragonsplague-infected pawn. Just walk into town, use it and everything should return to normal.
If the stone doesn’t get everyone, just go back to your inn and take all the bodies to the center of town and use the Eternal Wakestone while standing next to them.
Just know that there is only one Eternal Wakestone per playthrough, so if Dragonsplague gets you twice, you’ll have to get more creative with your Wakestones or start a new game right away.
